About the Role

We are seeking a Project Planning Engineer to develop, monitor, and control project schedules for civil and EPC projects. The successful candidate will ensure that all project phases are executed on time and within scope through effective planning, coordination, and progress tracking.

This role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams — engineering, procurement, and construction — to support the seamless execution of complex, large-scale projects.

Key Responsibilities

>> Schedule Development & Management

>> Develop and maintain comprehensive project master schedules with detailed Work Breakdown Structures (WBS).

>> Create integrated planning frameworks covering all project phases and disciplines.

>> Establish baseline schedules and ensure proper version control throughout the project lifecycle.

>> Progress Monitoring & Control

>> Track project progress systematically to identify critical path activities and potential delays.

>> Conduct regular schedule updates based on actual site progress and field data.

>> Monitor milestones and highlight variances from planned timelines.

Reporting & Documentation

>> Prepare progress reports, S-curves, dashboards, and look-ahead schedules.

>> Generate accurate project status reports and performance forecasts for management.

>> Create clear visual presentations of progress and trend analysis for stakeholders.

>> Cross-Functional Coordination

>> Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and construction departments to update project data.

>> Facilitate communication among departments to ensure alignment on deliverables and schedules.

>> Support effective resource planning and allocation across various project stages.

Analysis & Forecasting

>> Perform earned value management (EVM) and schedule analysis to forecast project completion.

>> Conduct what-if scenarios to assess impacts of design or schedule changes.

>> Develop performance metrics and analytical reports for project controls.

Problem Resolution

>> Identify schedule variances and provide corrective action recommendations.

>> Troubleshoot and resolve construction or resource-related scheduling issues.

>> Develop recovery plans and mitigation strategies to manage potential delays.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

>> Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.

>> 5–8 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, with at least 3 years in Qatar or GCC.

>> Proven experience in EPC projects within oil & gas, petrochemical, or infrastructure sectors.

Technical Skills

>> Proficiency in Primavera P6 (essential).

>> Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Project and MS Office Suite.

>> Expertise in developing and managing Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and critical path analysis.

>> Experience with progress measurement, earned value management, and forecasting.

>> Familiarity with EPC project delivery methodologies and controls.
